Projector People  IR Remote Control Extender, Wireless up to 328'

Part #: PPIRREPEATER  |   Mfg #: IRREPEATER

This wireless IR extender converts the IR signal into an RF signal at 433.92 MHz, for transmission to the receiver unit, up to 100 meters away, through walls, doors, ceilings, and floors, or whatever. At the receiving end, an IR cable with three bulbs repeats the IR signal from your remote to up to three individual components, so you can use it for your receiver, DVD player, and satellite receiver, for example.

Easy to install but not much of an improvement

Comments about Projector People IR Remote Control Extender, Wireless up to 328':

After installation I repositioned the transmitter several differnt places to improve the funtion and it proved to be a waste of time. There seemed to be a signal delay that lasted a second or two of between pushing the remote button and the change of funtion on the projector. My 12 yr old Hitachi projector's remote was flawless in the exact same room. Very disapointed that the quality of the new Hitachi remote requires additional components to work properly. Other than that the Hitachi projector is outstanding and customer service is the best.

Help me understand: do you have to plug in a cable from the receiver to the projector? Or have the receiver pointing at the projector? I'm not sure the model of projector our church has, but not sure if it has that connection for a cable.

      • Q:

How far apart can the devices on the reception end of the IR can the devices be? I have a Epson Projector and a remote video camera that are about 10 feet apart that I want to control from one extender. Can the IR cable be extended to accommodate my extra distance if the cables are not long enough? I guess I would need to know what type of wiring is in the IR distribution cable that the 3 IR sensors are with.
        Thanks,

I have an HD Acer projector setup in the front of our hall and the tech booth is back of house. The remote for the projector can only be used if I stand on the stage and point directly at the projector - perhaps up to 10' away max. Can I use this extender to control the projector from the tech booth. Back of house to the projector is about 60'

The IR remote control extender allows you to use your remote control up to 328' away from your devices. However, it doesn't allow you to send content wirelessly from a computer to a projector, if that's what you're asking.
