What can you say about a product that is terrific for about two minutes before the pain on the sides of my head starts up? While the rechargable glasses work perfectly with 3D images, I should have paid attention to the reviews. Imagine watching a 3D movie with your head in a vise and you'll understand the experience. How can Sony, who makes great products including my Sony Bravia TV come up with a $70 pair of glasses that can't be worn for more than a few minutes before getting a throbbing headache. Sony says they are adjustable but it ain't so. I'm going to try to heat the temples and bend them to a new shape. Otherwise these two glasses I bought are useless.

About Me Movie Enthusiast

Pros

  • Easy To Set Up
  • Great Interface

Cons

  • Heavy
  • Painful When Wearing

Best Uses

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

They look great, work well, but they are very uncomfortable. They are hard rigid heavy plastic glasses. They are not adjustable to fit, the nose bridge is very uncomfortable, constantly adjusting and taking them off due to the pain. This all is a major distraction while watching your movie.

    Excellent

    By Batman777

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

These are high end 3D active glasses. you can wear them over with or without regular (avg size) glasses which makes them a little larger. They appear quality made when you see them. The 3D is stunning and not artificial or cheap. The drawback is and probably with any 3D active glasses is, they start to get a little uncomfortable when watching a two hour movie. I don't know how that could be helped since they are not like passive feather weight glasses. Over all, they are very nice or they would cost 5 times more. The builtin rechargeable battery recharge rate is very fast and easy.

    Expanding Colletction

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

This is our 5th pair of Sony3D glasses, and our second from the refurbished store. Movie night now includes 4 to 5 people. The glasses have performed flawlessly. All of our friends who have used them find the images remarkable and better than anything they've seen in the theaters.

    Must use TV to charge

    By NewYorkGal

    from New York

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

The glasses can only be recharged using the Sony TV. No computer USB, no AC adapter - I called and Sony confirmed this. They said that the computer charge will damage the glasses. I can't reach the USB port on my TV so I can't recharge the glasses. Am returning as much of the Sony electronics as I can. I've never seen such an customer unfriendly company as this.

    Most unconfortable glassess ever worn

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

How can Sony, who makes great products including my Sony XBR TV come up with a $50 pair of glasses that can't be worn for more than a few minutes before getting a throbbing headache. Sony says they are adjustable but it ain't so. I'm going to try to heat the temples and bend them to a new shape. They have a new pair out for $100, maybe those will be more comfortable, but I'm not willing to pay that much money to find out

    Where are the nose pieces

    By leeoh

    from MS

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

The glasses are extremely uncomfortable on the bridge of my nose. I found myself constantly adjusting where the glasses sat on my nose so that one spot wouldn't become too sore. The next day I literally had to put tissue on the sore spot so that I could tolerate having the glasses on. The competitors including a universal brand has different nose pieces available. Where are Sony's?

    Great Glasses

    By bluesplayer

    from Orange, CA

Comments about Sony 3D Active Glasses:

These 3D glasses work wonderfully, the compensation for brightness built into my Bravia 3D settings allow me to use the glasses in the way best suited for my viewing. I have had no problems with the size of the glasses. The recharge feature is great and my whole family thinks the experience is as good as those found in the theater.

    • Q:

Will the Sony 3D glasses (CECH-ZEG1U) that came with my Playstation 3D display (CECH-ZED1U) work with my Benq MS510 (DLP 3D ready) projector? I have been searching online for the past 3 hours with no concrete answer to be found... I think I'm just going to try changing a bunch of settings and configurations to see if I can get them to work, but if someone can help me out, I would GREATLY appreciate it!!!
      Thanks,

Not sure if they will work, however the best way to find out is to simply test them.

      • A:

Yes, as long as you have the newer one, this projector will work with any brand 3D glasses. It does not specify any certain type. You do need a specific graphics card as it tends to not work with NVIDIA cards. They recommend ATI Radeon graphics cards.

Not sure, we have never tested the Sony glasses on the Panasonic. You may want to contact Panasonic directly for verification.
