Sanyo PLV-60HT home theater
by: Raymond Melnik
"A beam splits the family room and it was decided that we would use the larger side for the home theater installation. The ceiling was removed in order to run all the wiring for the front projector, sound system and electric receptacles. The room has a long window so thick curtains were placed to control the lighting for daytime viewing. We had decided on a deep green paint for the walls using a satin finish to reduce reflective light. The screen size is 80" long and 45" high and we built a custom ceiling shelf 11' 6" from our screen. With 1200 lumens and 500:1 contrast, the PLV-60 provides a clear bright picture even when using the recessed lighting that can be dimmed. The resolution of 1366 by 768 gives us a stunning quality for the DVD player and HDTV receiver while providing an exceptional picture with the digital cable as well. All in all, I am convinced that front projection and the Sanyo PLV-60HT are home theater at it's best."
