"The Panasonic PT-AX100U projector is installed in our Family Room, which is 24 feet, by 25 feet with a 13-foot ceiling. Our Family Room is the central part of all of the entertaining we do.

I chose the PT-AX100U because it was a true HD projector, had the brightness I needed and had both component and HDMI connections. My previous projector was a XGA 4:3, 2100 lumens and DLP based.

I did a lot of research before I chose the PT-AX100U. All of reviews I read gave this projector very high ratings. The $400 rebate brought the cost of this projector down to half of what I paid for my old projector 4 years ago. Lisa, from Projector People, was very helpful. She reassured me that the brightness of this PT-AX100U would be better than my old DLP projector. She was right. Brightness is important because my Family Room and Kitchen are connected, and there usually are one or more lights turned on. I am very impressed with the brightness of the image -- and - the sharpness too. I do not see any of the screen door artifacts that I saw on my DLP.

My setup consists of a 7.1-channel surround sound system, Toshiba HD-DVD player, OPPO DVD player, DVD recorder, HD Cable TV receiver, Minidisk Recorder/CD player, CD+G Player, Stereo Mixer and the Wii.

Because of the size of the room, I had to purchase 50-foot high quality Component Video Cables as well as a 50-foot HDMI cable. I use a Component Video/Audio switcher to connect the Wii, HD Cable Box, OPPO DVD player and my HDV Camera. I mounted the projector 45 inches from the ceiling to keep the centerline of the lens even with where I wanted the centerline of the image to be on the screen. I did this because I wanted to keep the lens shift dead center so I had the best quality picture. I did not use any Keystone correction, which I was told, should never be used on 720p projectors. The projector is 17 feet from the screen. The image size is 110 inches measured diagonally.

Everyone that has visited our house since I installed the PT-AX100U is very impressed. I am very happy with my purchase."
