The Panasonic PT-AE3000 is the next in the best-selling AE home theater projector series. The AE3000 improves upon the already strong list of features of the AE2000 with new "lens memory" which easily converts video from 16:9 widescreen format to the dramatic 2.35:1 CinemaScope aspect ratio which is commonly used in the motion picture industry. Another maverick Panasonic feature is "side-by-side" comparison technology which allows users to 'tweak' an image and compare changes to the original (learn more from Panasonic here).
Quick Tip: You may sometimes see this projector referred to as the Panasonic PT-AE3000 without the "U" at the end. The "U" designates the product as having a U.S. warranty. If you live in the U.S., that's the model you want. An "E" typically represents a European warranty.
Here's what Panasonic has to say about the new PT-AE3000 projector :
The new Panasonic PT-AE3000U maximizes the image quality of the full-HD content in Blu-ray Discs and HD broadcasts for large-screen viewing, and adds a newly designed optical system that achieves a 60,000:1 contrast ratio and 1,600 lumens of brightness. A variety of advanced signal-processing technologies, beginning with Detail Clarity Processor 2 and Frame Creation Interpolation, push the performance level of the LCD projector to an entirely new level of picture quality and provide viewers with the true beauty of full-HD images. Experience on-screen reality, complete with crisp, detailed images and life-like depth, in the Panasonic PT-AE3000U. Its exceptional performance is further boosted by Panasonic's collaboration with leading Hollywood filmmakers to ensure that the projector produces images that mirror the director's artistic vision and intent through a process called Hollywood Tuning.
