            Comments about Vivitek Qumi Black:

I brought the Qumi along as backup to a key presentation just in case the large-screen video hookup didn't work. Of course, it didn't. The advantage of the Qumi is, with its convenient form factor and high performance, you don't even have to think twice as to whether to bring it along "just in case."

              Comments about Vivitek Qumi Black:

I must admit I was a little skeptical about the brightness on this unit. I did take it home to see how it would look on my 120" diag screen and it did a very nice job. I would recommend projecting a smaller image but I wanted to push it to it's limit. I did test this out in the evening with very little ambient light. This would be a perfect little projector for those people using it on the road for presentations that need a tiny footprint but don't want to sacrifice resolution.

              Comments about Vivitek Qumi Black:

Great for HDTV viewing and without the need to ever worry about bulb hours since it doesn't have one. Very quiet and puts out alot less heat than projector with a bulb. Projector needs to warmup for 15-20 minutes for focus to be perfect each time. A fantastic buy. I use it with a 92" high power screen and brightness is very good. [...]

Can I use this product to connect to a laptop and do slide by slide PowerPoint presentations (I.e. operated directly from page-up/down commands vs. necessity to save the presentation as a video or slideshow).
If not, do you know a mini projector that works for this. I am learning that many of these products only show movies/video.

                  A:

                  Hello Willy,
I purchase the Qumi Black and works very good to project a PowePoint
presentations through/connected in a laptop or PC.
Even more you can also project your PPT file direct from a Pendrive using
                  the remote control.
Connected to a laptop is the best and easier way but in case of non
availability of a laptop or PC just having the PPT file
in a PenDrive will also work as said above.
All you do in your laptop and you see in your screen works perfectly with
the projector connected to the laptop with great
resolution and fidelity (PPT, Excel, Word, Movies etc.;).
Please remark when you use only the PenDrive connected to the projector then
you need to be aware of the format files
that the projector is capable to support directly. (For sure PPT, Excel and
Word works fine trough PenDrive but audio
and movie formats have some restricition).
In my opnion a soluiton that fits perfectly in my case that I work as
International IT Consulting and do a lot of presentation
to the customers and within the company I work.
From the lower price projectors, the best choice considering price and
                  benefits!
Be aware with the lumesn capability since it demands a quite dark room to
get a good view and projection!
Hope it help you in find and make decision.

This particular projector appears to handle PowerPoint presentations just fine, according to several customer reviews as well as the company's own website.

We see no reason why it would not. The Qumi has the Mini HDMI and this would be the digital cable you should be using for data and video.
