You should have seen us when the Panasonic PT-AE7000 first hit our shelves. There was cheering, dancing and celebrating. We were that excited about Panasonic's first 3D projector for home theater.
The wait was worth it. At 2,000 lumens, the Panasonic PT-AE7000U is about 25% brighter than most similarly-priced 1080p 3D home theater projectors. The projector provides a 240Hz image in 3D mode, virtually eliminating cross talk (when one eye sees an image intended for the other). The Panasonic AE 7000 also allows you to adjust the depth of the 3D image and is capable of converting 2D content to 3D in real time.
Your friends will be so jealous when they see this bad boy in your home theater or living room.
The PT-AE7000U Full HD 3D Home Cinema Projector was developed according to Panasonic’s commitment to providing images that mirror the director’s artistic vision and intent—right in your own home. An upgrade from the very popular Panasonic PT-AE4000U projector, the AE7000U was redesigned from the ground up to provide an even higher quality 2D display.
With 3D’s growing popularity in mind, Panasonic packed the Panasonic PT-AE7000U with unique features to deliver the high level of 3D quality demanded by Hollywood film studios. The engineers who developed the AE7000U all have key roles in establishing the industry standards for 3D projection, ensuring your purchase is compatible with the most popular 3D content and accessories.

Comments about Panasonic PT-AE7000U:
Wonderful Projector! Its no wonder why so many people rave about the Panasonic units! They have a marvelous picture, and it was a breeze to get set up! The lens adjustments were extremely helpful in getting the picture just right. This thing is so far above what I had before, that I cant really compare it! It is a bit large, but then most HT projectors are, so just be aware! If you have low ceilings in a smallish room, it will be a bit overpowering, but overall, it looks nice, so isnt that big of a deal. The 3D is ok, bout what I expected, so no real surprise there. Same kind of artifacts you see in the theater when you watch a 3d flick, sometimes not quite focused, etc. Glasses are a bit pricey, but that is kind of universal for active glasses from what I can tell. Overall, a great purchase that I am not regretting one bit!

Comments about Panasonic PT-AE7000U:
I've got a dedicated home theater set up in the basement with dark walls. I owned an Optoma HD53 projector for about 10 years before it died. I decided to replace it with the Panasonic since it had great reviews and the price wasn't bad either. After watching several blue ray movies I was blown away by the image quality. It was clear, crisp, and the colors were fantastic.

Comments about Panasonic PT-AE7000U:
This projector replaces my PT-AE700U projector I purchased back in December 2004. The image is projected on a 109" screen at 19 1/2 feet distance. The image is as bright and sharp as any flat screen TV.The remote functions are far superior to the former projector, and are too numerous to list here. Panasonic, after viewing several other brands, is still the leader in TV PROJECTION systems.

Comments about Panasonic PT-AE7000U:
This is a follow-up to my review of 8-8-2012. At that time, I had not tested the projector's 3d performance.
I have now tested the projector's 3D performance, using Panasonic 3D glasses. The 3D effect is truly amazing, far better than I had expected. Most of my watching has been on DirecTV, which has a couple of 24/7 3D channels. I had expected good 3D, but this is incredible. In a nature scene, for example, I could clearly see dragon flies buzzing about an arm's length in front of me, ten feet in front of the screen.
It isn't perfect, but close to it. While wearing the 3D glasses, the picture is a little dark with the lamp set on low power in my very dark home theater. But after a few minutes of viewing, my eyes adjust and it seems fine. Switching the bulb to full brightness, which requires only a few clicks of the remote control, brightens the picture considerably if you think it's too dark otherwise.
There are occasional 3D distortions at the sides of the screen during fast motion, but you have to be looking for them to notice.
I have two pairs of Panasonic 3D glasses: A large and a medium. I'm six feet tall and weigh 165 pounds, with a "normal" size head and the medium fits me fine. The large fits fine, too.
My wife and I both wear the 3D glasses while wearing prescription eyeglasses with no trouble. They fit fine over our eyeglasses.
The Panasonic 3D glasses do not come with a charger. I plugged them into a USB port on my computer and they seemed to fully charge just fine.

Comments about Panasonic PT-AE7000U:
I hung this projector from the ceiling of my home theater, about 14' from the screen. Installation and setup were simple. (This is my third projector over 25 years; the first two were CRT type and way more difficult to set up.)
The picture is outstanding from an HD source like DirecTV or Blu-ray disks. Plenty of brightness for 2D viewing, although just enough for 3D in my dark home theater.
I haven't fully tested 3D yet, other than to watch some ESPN 3D to make sure it works. 3D seemed as good as a movie theater, although much darker than 2D. (I watch 2D on eco mode and one of the cinema settings, which are not at full brightness. I think if I watch 3D with the lamp on full brightness and in Normal mode, it will be plenty bright enough.)
The projector is hanging from the ceiling over my head and I can't hear the cooling fan when there is any sound coming from my loudspeakers. Unless I listen for it, I don't hear the fan even during quiet scenes. I watch in eco mode, which is a quieter fan setting than normal mode.
I'm using an HDMI connection with a 30' HDMI cable from my A/V receiver to the projector, which works fine.
In summary, the picture is great and setup was simple. Hard to imagine I could have gotten a better picture in any other projector in this price range.

Sarah Buss from PP was amazing to deal with. Knew the product well and gave good advise.
As I am an international buyer, on my request, she actually asked the operations team to do a quality check on the projector before shipping it.

The 3D works fine for me. I did have constant ghosting when I triedQ:
I have just purchased one of these projectors and it works wonderfully so far. However, when the 3D mode is set to Auto it does not detect side by side (the most commonly used method of 3D) in video files such as mpg, mkv, m2t, etc. It will also not auto-detect SBS programming straight from the internet, such as the 3D shorts posted on Youtube. I have to make the programming full screen (at which point you see the image side by side), then go to the Menu, choose 3D Mode-->Side By Side, and then it works. Is there a way to make it truly automatic?3 answers

A:
I only notice auto 3D mode work when I play a 3D Blu-Ray disc. when ever I play a digital down load like pirated 3D I have to manually change it. I also have a LG 3D TV and it does the same thing. So have you tried an actual Blu-Ray 3D in a blu-ray player? that should work at least. Must be something with the pirated material or digital media.A:
This projector is made so that it can be turned on in automatic mode, which you have to do manually. Go to settings>mode, you will see an option that says automatic. Choose the automatic option.Q:
How do we go about register the ae7000 with Panasonic and would we get the 2nd year warranty with it?1 answer

It comes with a 2 year warranty standard. You can do the rebate for the 2 sets of 3D glasses here.Q:
Just bought this projector and am impressed with the picture quality. Was tweaking the setup here and there and when I wanted to restore factory settings I noticed there is no such option available in menus. Which quite surprised me as all the projectors I've seen so far provide 'factory reset'. I assume there is a special key combination to reset the projector; if not do I really have to go from a setting to a setting and press [Default] on each? Thanks a lot for help.3 answers
