The home theater projector that works anywhere! The HC7800D HD projector offers DLP, high-precision conversion and original 3D glasses with high-speed liquid-crystal shutter to deliver amazing performance. Using motion-vector analysis technology, 2D images converted to 3D have a natural sensation of depth. The optional glasses best match the high-speed DLP system. High-speed switching is over ten times faster than TN liquid-crystal shutter glasses, reducing blanking to 1/20 and resulting in amazingly low levels of eye fatigue.
The 3D projector features a newly developed variable iris that provides high 100,000:1 contrast. Automatic control is high-speed and highly precise, even in continuously changing bright and dim scenes, while blacks are traced and adjusted instantly. This home theater projector reproduces high-definition images, from sources such as hi-definition television broadcasting and Blu-ray players, true to their originals.
The HC7800D HD projector is equipped with a high-performance extra-low dispersion (ED) 13-lens system for full high definition resolution. Images remain sharp and clear, with chromatic aberration minimized to the fullest and resolution improved, including the periphery.
With 1,500 lumens and a new color management function, the 3D projector provides superior projections. A high-power lamp ensures enhanced brightness and contrast, so high-resolution images are clearer, sharper and more vivid in both 2D and 3D. The home theater projector includes colors that were previously hard to produce so images are reproduced with deeper, more vivid hues.

Comments about Mitsubishi HC7800D:
Have had the 7800 for a few weeks now, replacing my ancient NEC HT1000 DLP. I use it exclusively for Blu-ray movies and HD TV. I considered the Panasonic PT-AE7000 and Epson E 5010. Decided to stick with DLP technology due to the excellent reliability of my HT1000. Overall, the picture is amazing. Color appears very accurate. Blacks are very good. Setup was easy. I had to dial back brightness quite a bit, but that may be because 7800 is about 50% brighter than HT1000 and I have a controlled light room and 'only' 96" screen. I am using only component input so far and I have not tried 3D yet. I'd have given it 5 stars except for some minor issues with optics. There's a slight bow to the bottom edge of the screen and image moves when making focus adjustments indicating some looseness in the lens that my HT1000 didn't have. I doubt my family will notice bow. I noticed because I painted screen on wall and edges are dead straight and square within about 1/16". Slight looseness in lens is not an issue since I have ceiling mount.
Service and delivery comments:
Person I contacted at PP was friendly, helpful, and even though I consider myself an expert, asked me several questions to make sure I understood what I was buying and knew how to use it. Product was shipped and arrived promptly. Only thing I had to follow up on was getting tracking number, but that question was answered promptly. Both purchasing experiences have been very good. I recommend PP highly.
